Farnham Town manager Paul Johnson was delighted with his side’s performance after they beat Harrow Borough 4-0 in the Isthmian League South Central Division.

Goals from Sam De St Croix and Owen Dean (3) gave Town the three points at The Memorial Ground.

“We upped the standards and we were excellent throughout,” said Johnson.

“I don't think we had a moment off. We were relentless. Even in the second half when the game slowed down we kept the ball really well.

“We had them (Harrow) watched. We knew what they had, and everything worked a treat. It was pleasing all round.

“Darryl Sanders played three passes in the first half that cut the Harrow defence open. The vision he had was outstanding and we put one of them away.”

Town had raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time, and Johnson was pleased to see his side maintain their levels after the break.

“We talked about standards at half-time,” said Johnson.

“It was all about how we can impose ourselves for 90 minutes of the game and the standards we set each other. We've got to keep pushing the bar.”

Johnson was full of praise for hat-trick hero Dean after his impressive performance.

“We've had Owen for a couple of years,” said Johnson. “He's come through the club and there's so much potential. He keeps getting better and better.

“He's good in the air, he's strong, he runs with the ball and he's direct. We've got a good player there. He thoroughly deserved his hat-trick.”

New signing Great Evans, who has joined from Southern League Premier South outfit Bracknell Town, made his debut off the bench, and Johnson is delighted to have the striker on board.

“I’m really happy to get Great in,” said Johnson. “We're the finished article up top now – we've got a bit of everything. We've got good options.

“Once Great picks up moving the ball that touch quicker he's going to be a handful, like we saw with the half-hour he had. He's going to be some player.”

A healthy crowd of 560 watched Saturday’s game, and Johnson, who is taking each game as it comes, was pleased with the backing his team got.

“We tick the games off and we keep going,” said Johnson. “We'll have moments where we're up against it and it's up to us to manage that and recognise that.

“The backing we're getting from the fans is excellent. They're getting noisier. They're getting behind the boys and we're all together at the minute.”
