Have your say on Liphook’s playgrounds! Two popular play areas in Bramshott and Liphook are getting a £174,000 makeover, and East Hampshire District Council wants your ideas on how to bring them back to life.
Admers Crescent and The Lyndons playgrounds in Liphook are both more than 20 years old and in desperate need of refurbishment. The £174,000 has been earmarked from developer contributions but residents are being called on by the council to help shape their futures.
Cllr Angela Glass, EHDC’s Portfolio Holder for Regulation & Enforcement, said: “It’s important we keep our local facilities fresh and up-to-date, so it’s great that this money has been set aside to revamp these play areas.”
The council has also proposed decommissioning The Avenue playground once it reaches the end of its useful life, but they want to hear from residents about this decision before they give the playground the axe.
A survey has been launched to gather public opinions, with both digital and hard copies available at the parish council offices and the Liphook Millennium Centre. The survey, which is anonymous, will play a crucial role in guiding the design and choice of new equipment.
“We want to deliver the facilities that people most want,” added Cllr Glass. “That’s why we’re running this survey to give the community a chance to let us know what they would like to see installed.”
