CARING?folk are being encouraged to don something pink and head to Amery Hill School’s sports hall on Saturday and “Stand up to Cancer” by taking part in the annual Zumbathon.
Run by an enthusiastic team of zumba instructors, the event is open to everyone, including non-zumba participants, and the aim is to have fun while raising money for Cancer Research UK.
Registration is at 1.30pm ahead of the official 2.15pm start time, and entry is £10 for anyone aged over 13. Nicola Dunford, the local fundraising manager for Cancer Research UK, will officially open the event alongside town mayor Matthew Bayliss, who cut the ribbon.
Stalls will promote fitness, health and nutrition and feature alongside beauty, massage, reflexology and face painting.
There will also be a raffle and refreshments.
The organising team, led by Kate Sadler and Mandy Wilson, have expressed grateful thanks to Amery Hill School for allowing them to use their Amery Hill facilities and, as a gesture, will be making a donation to the school from the proceeds of the raffle and refreshments to help buy outdoor furniture for its supported quad.
