A cursed dollhouse, a missing boy and an ancient hex have brought a fresh taste of success for Farnham actor Christopher Mulvin.
Christoper's dad Grahame Mulvin said “ We are very proud of him. When he was at All Hallows, he actually starred in a few productions there at All Hallows.
“And up until then, neither my wife or myself had thought that he would do anything like that. Nobody else in the family's ever done anything like that. But he was so keen at it and he was so good.”
Christopher plays Rick Spectre, also known as Dr Phantasma, in the film, which has already secured distribution in America and could reach further international audiences.
“It’s a huge honour to receive the award, and I’m incredibly proud to have been part of JINX,” he said.
“It was a fantastic experience working with the cast and crew, and it’s exciting to see the film now reaching audiences overseas.”
His award was part of a successful festival outing for JINX, which also won Best Feature Film, Best Director for Richard Oakes and the Rising Star award for Chloe Hews.
The story follows Mia Harper, a girl who cannot speak, as she moves into a new home and discovers a cursed dollhouse hidden in the attic. When her younger brother vanishes, she must unravel its dark mysteries before an ancient hex claims his soul.
For Christopher, the win is the latest milestone in an acting career that took him from All Hallows in Weybourne to Arts University Bournemouth, and on to television and feature films.
His screen credits include The Code, On in 15, BBC drama Doctors and horror films Feed Me and Lore. He was also recognised as an Emerging Brit/Rise-Up Actor in 2019.
His performance in Feed Me brought a string of Best Actor awards in 2022, including at the British Horror Film Festival, Unrestricted View Film Festival, Horror at the Ohio and HorrorFest International.
Now, with JINX preparing to reach audiences overseas, Christopher is already working on his next feature film, Last Resort.
