Police investigating a fire which gutted a former care home in Rake have arrested a man on suspicion of arson.
The 18-year-old from Portsmouth remains in custody while investigations continue into the devastating blaze at Heathmount late on Tuesday.
Police were called to the property off the B2070 London Road along with firefighters after the alarm was raised at the derelict building around 11.30pm.
Around 60 firefighters battled the blaze at its height with crews from around Hampshire taking part.
No-one was injured in the blaze but London Road was closed for a lengthy period.
Investigations and surveys are currently taking place at the cordoned-off site amid fears about the structural integrity of the building’s remains.
