Petersfield Rugby Club’s under-16s rounded off a superb season by winning the Hampshire under-16 X Rugby Sevens County Cup tournament at Havant Rugby Club.

Petersfield’s under-16s had already won the league and the county shield this season.

With good squad numbers, Field entered two teams.

Petersfield’s second team lost by four tries to two against New Milton in their first group game. They then lost against Winchester, before losing by three tries to one against Ellingham & Ringwood.

The first team started with a 52-12 win against Gosport & Fareham, before beating Trojans’ second team 24-17. Field then beat Andover 50-7 and Fawley 66-22 to confirm their place in the final.

Petersfield won the final 36-0 against Trojans’ first team to seal the under-16 X Rugby Sevens County Cup.
