A late Kwame Thomas goal was enough to give Aldershot Town a 1-0 win at home to Barnet in the National League last Tuesday night (February 20).
Chances were few and far between in the first half, but most of the ones which came fell the way of the Shots.
Lorent Tolaj had a handful of half chances, but his deflected effort off the post and James Daly’s lob over the keeper were the only chances of note for the Shots in the first half.
Barnet nearly took the lead after the break when Ollie Harfield’s clearance led to a scuffle on the line, but Shots keeper Jordi van Stappershoef got his hands on the ball.
The Shots took the lead on 85 minutes. The ball found its way to Tyler Frost, and he hit a half-volley towards the Barnet net. However, Thomas got a vital touch on the ball and converted from close range to put the ball beyond Barnet keeper Josh Keeley.
After a tense seven minutes of added time the referee blew his whistle and ended the game to give Aldershot all three points.
