Petersfield Cricket Club’s under-11 Pumas headed to Hampshire’s Ageas Bowl to take part in the Hampshire Hawks skills challenge.

Along with five other teams, they were invited to go on the ground and take part in a carousel of six different drills ranging from hitting balls into the stands to diving catches on a crash mat.

The final task on a beautiful, sunny evening was to take it in turns to knock out six stumps – the first one to do so would be given the prize of making the guard of honour for the Hawks as they entered the field.

The Pumas just missed out to Hedge End CC but put in a valiant display of bowling.

The team had group and individual photos taken and then watched Hampshire Hawks’ five-run win against Somerset in the Vitality Blast.

The boys also picked up quite a few players’ signatures.
