Clanfield’s second team won by 73 runs at Fareham & Crofton’s fourth team in Division Six South East of the Hampshire Cricket League on Saturday.
Clanfield slipped to five for three and found runs hard to come by against opening bowlers Ewan Atwood (five for 13) and Jason Manning (two for nine). When John Windebank fell Clanfield were 31 for four, but Kris Lane (18) and Scott Richardson (47) added 60 for the fifth wicket. Three quick wickets saw Clanfield slip to 100 for seven, but Ben Cox (24 not out) and Guy Andrews (60 not out) took Clanfield to 188 for seven after 40 overs.
Alex Graham (three for 22) made early inroads with the ball to leave Fareham 38 for three. Roy Goulding (three for 33), Andy Wellen (two for 24) and Andrews (two for nine) took the remaining wickets as Fareham were bowled out for 115.
Clanfield’s first team lost by 144 runs against Solent Rangers’ second team in Division Five South East of the Hampshire Cricket League.
Mickey Rossouw (two for 35), Nick Sawyer (two for 49), Matt Bradley (two for 31) and Ollie Sedgwick (one for 36) took the wickets for Clanfield as Solent Rangers scored 219 for seven in 40 overs. Clanfield were bowled out for just 75, with Bradley top scoring with 30.
Clanfield’s Sunday team lost by seven wickets at Bedhampton Mariners.
Andy Foster (36) and Ollie Sedgwick (32) were the main contributors as Clanfield scored 121 for seven off 40 overs. Bedhampton knocked the runs off in the 27th over.
