On Christmas Eve volunteers, including Ukrainians being hosted locally in Alton, loaded a van from partner organisation UK Friends of Ukraine with medical supplies to deliver to hospitals in Ukraine.

Sixty boxes of medical supplies from a local consultant anaesthetist were sorted into three tranches, two for hospitals in Kyiv and a third for front line field hospitals.

Alton’s Brant Self Storage stored everything free until transport to Ukraine was scheduled and driver Alex collected the consignment.

After a week of driving Alex reached the Polish border with Ukraine, and seven hours later he was in Kyiv.

Boxes of vital aid were delivered, securing a vital lifeline from volunteers and donors in the UK.
