Two suspected teenage car criminals from Bordon – one aged just 13 – have been arrested as motorists in an East Hampshire village continue to count the cost of a night of destruction.
Last Thursday was a productive day for Longmoor police as three teens and one adult were arrested in connection with a suspected burglary in Lindford and a separate spate of vehicle crimes and criminal damage around Bordon and Liphook.
The latter relates to a night of vandalism around Liphook as windows to numerous vehicles around Canada Way, Newtown Road, Midhurst Road, the village centre and the station car park were smashed between 4am and 5am on Friday, March 22.
On the same day a red Fiat Bravo stolen from Apollo Drive in Bordon was also found dumped in Liphook.
Police launched an investigation with an officer being assaulted during the arrest of two Bordon teens, both male and aged 17 and 13, respectively, last Thursday (March 28).
The eldest was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, common assault of an emergency worker, theft of a motor vehicle and nine counts of criminal damage. The 13-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and nine counts of criminal damage, with the pair being bailed with conditions until June 28.
Officers investigating an attempted burglary near Lindford late on Wednesday, March 27, have also arrested a 34-year-old man from Liphook and a 16-year-old boy from Bordon.
The owner of the Frensham Lane property was threatened after looking into a disturbance around 10.25pm, with no injuries being reported and nothing stolen.
Both were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and making threats to kill, with the 34-year-old also being accused of showing intent to commit damage. Both have been conditionally bailed until June 28 with enquiries continuing in both cases.
