Alton Town Council is still gathering data to decide the future of Kings Pond.

Rigour Surveys will start a topographic survey of the site and a hydrology survey of the pond, including silt depths and volume, next week. Silt sampling and analysis will also be done.

RPS Group is investigating the feasibility and implications of weir removal, and an ecologist will do a biodiversity net gain baseline study, a government initiative.

When the council has the surveys, silt analysis and weir assessment, it will look for consultants to develop proposals.
