HEAVY snowfall last week turned Liphook and its Millennium Green into a glistening winter wonderland.
The fun in the snow began on Friday morning, after the snow descended on the region the previous night, for those children who were lucky enough not to have to go to school.
Liphook infant and junior schools carried on as usual, since many of their teachers live locally and were able to attend, allowing children to build their own snowmen in the playing field during break time.
Bohunt School operated for only part of the day, with some buses unable to get to their more remote destinations, but Bohunt sixth-form students turned up in full force to meet Education Secretary Damian Hinds.
Friday afternoon brought more unexpected heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures, causing travel chaos. Motorists struggled to negotiate untreated roads as well as narrow lanes and hills.
