Staunton Country Park in Havant will be hosting Peter Pan by Slapstick Picnic on July 29 at 6pm.
The audience will be encouraged never to grow up in this hectic multi-role production with hapless pirates, feral children and a particularly punctual reptile.
With just three actors swapping wigs, wings and waistcoats to play all the parts, and told at breakneck pace, this polished piece of buffoonery always seems just one step away from going completely overboard.
In 1992 JM Barrie gifted his copyright of Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital, and Slapstick Picnic will donate a percentage of the ticket sales proceeds to the hospital.
Director Nel Crouch said: “I’m so excited to be working with Slapstick Picnic again. The company’s motto is to celebrate silliness and that’s exactly what we intend to do. Expect outlandish costumes, sword fights with baguettes and spades of slapstick. And all while enjoying a delicious picnic in a beautiful outdoor setting. What more could you want from your summer?”
Charlotte Driessler will play Smee, Tinkerbell, John, Mr Darling, Shadow, Tootles, Whibbles, Mullins and Liza. Lucy Green is Hook, Wendy and Slightly. William Ross-Fawcett will portray Mrs Darling, Nibs, Jukes, Starkey, Cookson and Peter.
