Petersfield said farewell to Joyce Perry who passed away on September 6.
A thanksgiving service was held for her at the URC and the retiring collection was for Age Concern Petersfield. The charity has said thank you to Joyce’s family and the guests for donating nearly £300.
Sheridan Rocher, Age Concern Petersfield manager, said: “Joyce was instrumental in the 1970s for ensuring that Age Concern had a base in the Winton House Centre. Without her help we may not have been able to celebrate our 60th birthday this year.
“It was fitting that she enjoyed our lunch club and outings in her later years and made use of our help at home service. We will miss her.”
The photo of Joyce shows her “fun side” during celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Joyce was invited to be the Queen, she dressed up to the nines and perfected the royal wave. Playing the part “beautifully!”
