A Petersfield good cause has joined forces with a prostate cancer screening charity to hold a potentially life-saving event.
A PSA Blood Test event will be held at The Petersfield School between 10am and 3pm this Saturday, October 12.
The event organised by the Petersfield Lions and Prostate Cancer Support Organisation (PCaSO) is aimed at men aged 45 to 80.
They and doctors recommend that every man over 50 – or over 40 if there is a history of family history of prostate cancer – knows their PSA.
The cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed form of the disease in England and claims a life nearly every hour in the UK.
The test procedure is quick with a small blood sample being taken from a vein in the arm, with participants being informed of results within ten days.
To book an appointment visit www.psatesting.org, free parking available at the school.
