Following your report in last week’s Petersfield Post of the spiralling costs of updating Petersfield’s Festival Hall, now quoted as estimated to be well in excess of the £20 million mark, might not now be the time to consider a more affordable and achievable plan.
As it currently is, our Festival Hall is a huge asset to the town and the envy of many similar sized towns around.
Of course it is much in need of some refurbishment and improvement, but a less grandiose scheme would go a long way to alleviate the financial burden on the council tax payers of the town.
