MAKING a will probably isn’t at the top of anyone’s to-do list, but it’s one of the most important things that someone can do.

It is important for both financial and sentimental reasons, yet many people just simply never get around to doing it.

Phyllis Tuckwell’s Make a Will Fortnight returns from September 12-25.

During the fortnight 11 solicitors have agreed to waive their usual will-writing fee in return for a donation to Phyllis Tuckwell, so people can make sure that their last wishes are known, at the same time as helping a vital charity serving north East Hampshire and South West Surrey.

To make a will at the same time as supporting Phyllis Tuckwell, all individuals need to do is make an appointment with one of the participating solicitors during the fortnight.

At the appointment those interested will be asked what assets they have and who they want to benefit in the event of their death.

If specialist advice is required, the solicitor will explain what can be included under the scheme and include a separate price for the remaining work.

The average cost of a basic will is £250 to 300, and Phyllis Tuckwell suggests a minimum donation of £200 for a basic will and £300 for mirror wills, but there is no limit to how much extra people may wish to donate.
