A former bank in Petersfield could be the white fit for a luxury clothing, homeware and gift store.

The White Company is coming to town with ‘Petersfield’ listed on their online list of branches and adverts for store management positions appearing online.

The firm says the store will open “just in time for the festive season” with a picture of St Peter’s and the former Gillie G’s building on The Square accompanying the blurb.

But they haven’t confirmed the location with rumours circulating the retailer is moving into the former NatWest branch at 4 High Street.

That would tally with recent developments as work to convert the upstairs floors into housing has taken place, while proposals to extend the size of the ground floor windows have also been lodged with the South Downs National Park Authority.
