THE SISTER of a Liss man who died in a fatal car crash between Liphook and Rake earlier this month has launched an online appeal to give her “kind and caring” brother the send-off he deserves.

Kirsty Warren hopes to raise £3,000 to cover the costs of Stuart Mcgibbon’s funeral after getting the worst phone call of her life.

Her 12-year-old son was one of the two boys in the back of the silver Jaguar that came off the B2070 and collided with a tree near Rockfield Lodge around 3pm on Friday, December 8.

The boy called his mum to say his uncle crashed the car and his other uncle, 44-year-old front passenger Stuart, wasn’t breathing.

“I rushed to the scene to find the nightmare was true and my brother was receiving CPR at the roadside, but heartbreakingly he couldn’t be saved even with help from the air ambulance,” said Kirsty, who has already raised more than half her target.

“Luckily my son came off with barely any injuries and is recovering well at home. But we are all truly shocked and heartbroken at the loss of such a kind and caring person who would do anything to help anyone.”

The road was closed for around two hours after the collision on the southbound B2070, where the road becomes a dual carriageway.

Witnesses or anyone who may have captured dashcam footage from the area at the time should call Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Fosbury.
