Egg hunts with a difference are being held at the Curtis Museum and Allen Gallery in Alton from April 1 to 16.

At each venue, visitors taking part in the British Birds Egg Hunt will be invited to find eight hidden eggs and match them to their British bird species.

Once completed, the trail spotter sheets can be used to birdwatch at home or in local green spaces. Each sheet costs £2 and the trail is suitable for children aged four and above.

The Allen Gallery is also holding clay sculpting sessions inspired by animal motifs in the gallery collection.

Called Adventures In Clay – The Wild Escape, they will take place on April 4 at 11.30am and 2pm.

Under professional guidance, participants will learn to use pottery tools and techniques to make their own creations in clay.

These workshops form part of a National Art Fund event, The Wild Escape. Work can be fired and exhibited at the gallery later this year.
