Foodies had their fill on Sunday as cuisines from around the world were served up in Farnham town centre.
A culinary treat was served up on Castle Street and The Borough as huge crowds gathered for the 15th annual Farnham Food Festival.
The roads were packed with hungry visitors with an estimated 18,000 people getting a taste of food and drink from around the globe.
The food festival has become one of the biggest events of its kind in the South East drawing visitors and producers from well beyond Surrey and East Hampshire.
This year’s festival featured around 110 stalls and nearly cuisine imaginable from Croatian and Caribbean to dishes from The Philippines and French Guyana.
By 1pm on Sunday there was barely any standing space on Castle Street while the queue for paella was 30 deep at one stage. Business also seemed booming at Grigliata by The Little Pasta Co. and The Giggly Pig with ‘sold out’ signs also appearing at Lev & Tine following high demand for their Middle Eastern bowls of goodness.
It was all about bread and baked goods on the eastern stretch of The Borough while town institutions like the Lions and Hedgehogs had prime slots at the bottom of Castle Street opposite the cookery demo stage.
The latter attracted a wok star as Emmy-nominated chef, presenter and food writer Ching-He Huang was one of the big names in a programme which included workshops by Lorna’s Indian Kitchen, Henry Hampshire, Petite Patisserie and Maison Restaurant.
The final performance was by far the hottest with Hot Pods Chilli Products hosting a chilli eating competition.
There was also live music throughout the afternoon at the Castle Street Music Stage with a smaller and more intimate drinks demo and live music stage being set up in the Bush Hotel Courtyard.
