THERE was plenty of fireworks fun to be had on Saturday, with displays at Chiddingfold, Beacon Hill and Haslemere Educational Museum.

The always-popular Chiddingfold bonfire and fireworks event once again pulled in the crowds.

The event featured a torchlight procession before the bonfire and fireworks, as well as food and drink refreshments. Attendance was free, but donations were welcome.

Visit the website at www.chiddingfoldbonfire.org.uk to donate. There is a PayPal link on the website to make donations.

A Chiddingfold bonfire and fireworks spokesman said: “The bonfire team would like to thank all the volunteers who helped on the night, the businesses listed on the bonfire website who sponsored the event this year, the individuals who donated either before the event or on the night itself, and the Crown pub for providing bacon rolls to our volunteers on the Saturdays through October when we built the bonfire and on the day itself.”

The crowds also turned out for the Beacon Hill Fireworks after a one-year hiatus.

The bonfire featured a Guy Fawkes made by Beacon Hill Primary School Reception pupils, and the fireworks display was organised by Phase One Fireworks. Funds raised will go towards enhancing the learning environment of the pupils at Beacon Hill Primary School.

A fireworks display was also held at Haslemere Museum.
