Freddie Simpson, a 12 year old choirboy at St Thomas-on-The Bourne church in Farnham, has been selected as one of the three finalists of the BBC’s Junior Young Chorister of the Year 2023 competition.

Referred to as ‘Fantastic Freddie’ by judge Ken Burton, was highly praised by the panel for his rendering of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Pie Jesu at the junior semi-final stage, screened on last Sunday’s Songs of Praise.

The final will be broadcast on Songs of Praise this Sunday, December 3, airing at 1.30pm on BBC One.
