The students and staff at Undershaw Education in Hindhead have once again celebrated a "wonderful" set of GCSE, BTEC and Functional Skills results.
Students excelled in GCSE history and statistics, with 100 per cent of students achieving a grade 9, while 100 per cent of students who sat GCSE music achieved a grade 4+.
One-hundred per cent of students entered into Level 2 BTEC qualifications also achieved at least a pass grade, and there was also a 100 per cent pass rate for Year 10 and Year 11 students who completed the Level 1 Functional Skills exams.
Overall, 50 per cent of grades achieved were awarded at the higher levels (grade 5+/merit for BTEC level 2), with 28 per cent of grades achieving excellence at 7+.
All Undershaw students worked incredibly hard to ensure they achieved despite their barriers to learning. But a particular mention goes to the following students who were some of our top performers or achieved beyond their target grades:
- Jack who achieved five grade 9s, a grade 8 and an A for additional maths
- Edward who achieved a grade 9, a grade 8, 3 grade 7s and a grade 6
- Elliott who achieved two grade 7s and 3 grade 6s
- Alex who achieved a merit in BTEC performing arts and good passes in all core subjects.
- Eva who excelled in music and performing arts, and achieved good passes in her English and maths qualifications.
Headteacher Emma West, said: “We are so very proud of the results achieved by our students this year, which are testament to their hard work, resilience and perseverance.
"The staff have supported the students to successfully navigate the examinations despite the students’ barriers to learning and the impact of the pandemic.
"We break all school records this year with the number of higher grades achieved including grade 9s, in a year when grade boundaries are returning to pre-pandemic levels.
"Our students move on to our Post 16 provision, or mainstream colleges, with a great set of qualifications but just as important, they have developed their social and communication skills, built their confidence, and have become the most delightful group of young people.
"We look forward to hearing all about their next steps and their future successes.”
