IONE McLeod, aged ten, from Camelsdale has won Gillian Keegan MP’s Christmas card competition, which invited children from across the constituency to submit designs to be used for her Christmas cards this year.
Ione’s design has been printed on Mrs Keegan’s 2021 Christmas cards, which are being sent to her friends, family, and colleagues in parliament. The card has also been sent to important people who work closely with Mrs Keegan both in the constituency and beyond, including prime minister Boris Johnson.
Mrs Keegan recently presented the card to the prime minister in his parliamentary offices where he signed a certificate of congratulations to Ione as well as a copy of her Christmas card that was sent back to her.
Ione’s design depicts a quintessential Christmas scene of a robin sitting in a snowy branch.
Mrs Keegan said: "I want to thank everyone who entered the competition, we had some brilliant entries from right across the area. Most of all I want to thank and congratulate Ione whose fantastic picture will be enjoyed by people right across the country including at 10 Downing Street."
Ione said: "I’m really pleased and proud that my card was chosen to be Gillian Keegan’s Christmas card this year and I can’t believe the prime minister has been given one. I hope everyone has a merry Christmas!"
