Students in Whitehill & Bordon have shown their class as Oakmoor School has achieved its best-ever GCSE results.
The school achieved its highest ever Attainment 8 score while the percentage of students getting Grade 5 or higher in both English and Mathematics also hit a new high.
Record-breaking results were recorded in 11 subject areas and the percentage of students achieving grades 9-4, 9-5 and 9-7 across all subjects also rose to new levels on a memorable day for staff and students.
The “exceptional” results reflect the hard work and dedication shown by students and the dedication and support of staff, families and the wider school community.
“I am incredibly proud of all our students and would like to congratulate every one of them on their achievements,” said headteacher, Nigel Wright.
“What makes these results particularly special is the remarkable progress this year group has made in a relatively short period of time.
“Their improvement is a real testament to their attitude, application and determination to succeed. They have embraced every opportunity, worked hard to overcome challenges and fully deserve this success.
He added: “We are incredibly proud of what this year group has achieved and look forward to seeing them continue to thrive as they move on to the next stage of their education and careers.”
Jennese Alozie, CEO of the University of Chichester Academy Trust which oversees the school, was equally thrilled with Oakmoor’s record-breaking results.
She said: “Our students and staff are amazing – we are all thrilled that so many of our Oakmoor students have secured excellent KS4 exam results.
“High expectations, dedicated staff, supportive families, and inclusive practices are at the heart of Oakmoor's commitment to working with our young people to secure some of the best results in the school's history.”
