An East Hampshire woman has appeared in court today after being charged with the murder of a two-year-old girl.

Alice Mackey, 42, of Gibbs' Lane, Oakhanger, spoke only at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, March 5) to confirm her name and address.

She had been previously arrested following the death of a two-year-old girl who was found at Kingsley Pond, East Hampshire in September 2023 and was charged for her murder on Tuesday, March 4.

She is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court this Friday, March 7.
