Ram raiders struck in Grayshott in the early hours of the morning, stealing cash from a Sainsbury’s Bank ATM.
The thieves used a stolen JCB digger to smash through the wall, completely ripping it out, leaving bricks, debris, and a gaping hole where the ATM once stood.
Police were called at 3.15am on Monday, September 9, following reports that a JCB digger had been used to damage the shopfront.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “Two vehicles were seen driving away a short time later just before police arrived.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances, however an amount of cash appears to have been stolen from a cash machine.”
Anyone who witnessed any vehicles that may have been involved at the time is urged to call 101, quoting 44240386486.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “Police attended our Grayshott Headley Road Local store on Monday and we’re supporting with their investigation. The store is currently closed and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”
