If the England rugby team win this year’s Autumn Internationals, The Herald hears it could be down to one Haslemere business. Earlab was invited to Twickenham Stadium to treat the team after a doctor noted many players had blocked ears – a real fumble if left untreated.

Earlab was co-founded in 2022 by Tim Galvin and David Walker after Tim found himself suffering from blocked ears due to a leukaemia diagnosis. He learned about micro-suction earwax removal from David, an ENT surgeon. Finding no local treatment options in Haslemere, Tim approached David, leading to the launch of Earlab. The clinic now operates in Haslemere, Andover, and Guildford, with the pair planning to expand further.

Tim said: “It was a real honour and privilege to be invited to the England ruby team’s training session. We were only supposed to be treating a few of them, but when word got out we had the whole team and even some of the managing staff come in.

“I’m not going to claim they are going to win the Internationals because of Earlab, but it would be nice to think we’ve given them a marginal advantage.”

In just two years, Earlab has treated thousands of patients in Haslemere. Earwax buildup is a common issue no longer addressed by the NHS, leaving many with solvable hearing problems. One patient said her husband felt he had his life back after treatment. Another added: “I can now hear the birdsong loud and clear for the first time in years – what a delight! Thank you!”
