A concert to celebrate the 30th birthday of Farnham arts charity Creative Response will feature two of Scotland’s most gifted young traditional musicians, Ryan Young and David Foley.
The concert will take place at The Spire Church in Farnham on October 14 and proceeds will be donated to Creative Response.
Ryan Young was twice a finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition and was named Up And Coming Artist Of The Year at the Scots Trad Awards in 2017. His expressive and scintillating fiddle playing has drawn enthusiastic responses from audiences across the UK, Europe and the USA.
He will be accompanied by guitarist David Foley, who also holds a clutch of awards for Scottish traditional music, most notably with the band RURA.
Kathryn McManus, chief executive of Creative Response, said: “This concert is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate 30 years of Creative Response’s work supporting local people, and to say a big thank you to all our supporters, staff, art workers and volunteers.
“I’m very grateful to Jo at Folk Inspiration, who is also one of our treasured team of volunteers, for organising it.”
