A jewellery expert and Antiques Roadshow stalwart will talk about her glittering career to an East Hampshire audience in less than a month.
Joanna Hardy will shine some light on the high-end jewellery world during a talk at Blackmoor village hall on Saturday, March 9.
Her surname is well-known locally as the Hardy family once owned Bordon Motors and played a big part in the town’s early community.
She was also educated at Bedales, with her father’s hard work ethic spurring her on to become one of the world’s foremost and respected gemmologists.
Joanna, who has more than 40 years’ experience in the jewellery trade, began her career as a goldsmith before joining De Beers as a rough diamond valuer. Roles in Antwerp and Sotheby’s followed and she became the senior jewellery specialist and auctioneer at the latter.
The author has also launched an online Jewellery Foundation Course, is an accredited lecturer for The Arts Society and a Freeman of the City of London.
Her talk A Sparkling Career: A Woman in a Man’s World, in aid of the Friends of St Matthew’s, will begin at 7pm. For tickets, only available in advance and costing £12.50, email [email protected] or call 07715 454748.
