A 52-YEAR-OLD pedestrian suffered "life-threatening injuries" after a hit and run in Heath End on Friday evening.
Surrey Police updated an earlier appeal for witnesses on Saturday afternoon, coming after the man was hit on the A325 Farnborough Road sometime between 9.25pm and 9.35pm on November 6.
Officers now say a dark grey Mercedes (previously reported as white) failed to stop on the scene, adding the vehicle is believed to have "significant damage" to its windscreen.
The police has also released more details about the crash victim, who they say was taken to hospital by air ambulance where he is being treated for "significant, life-threatening injuries".
The A325 near Alma Lane was temporarily closed while officers and emergency services dealt with the incident.
A police spokesman added: "Officers are continuing to carry out CCTV to identify where the vehicle may now be, and the route it took from the scene.
"We are asking the public to contact us if they have seen a Mercedes with recent damage to the windscreen or may have been asked to replace a damaged windscreen in the last 12 hours, or are suspicious of a person with access to a car matching the description and is behaving strangely, to please contact us quoting incident number PR/P20258507."
