A teenage girl was flown to hospital by air ambulance after she was hit by a car in Farnham on Wednesday evening.
The collision between the 14 year old pedestrian and a Ford Focus took place on Folly Hill, at the junction with Hoghatch Lane, sometime between 6pm and 6.10pm.
A police spokesman said: "A 14-year-old girl was flown to hospital where she remains in a critical condition."
Folly Hill was closed while emergency services responded to the incident, bringing traffic to a standstill throughout the town centre, exacerbated by the long-term closure of West Street for roadworks.
The police spokesman continued :"If you were in the area at the time and witnessed the collision, or have any information including dashcam footage which could help our investigation, please contact us."
